Our females are all homebred, we have not purchased any since 1991, the only stock we buy in are our stock bulls.

The herd has always been run along commercial lines, i.e. every cow is expected to produce a calf every year and must have sufficient milk to rear it to a good weaning weight from grass. This policy has left us with a herd of good sized easy fleshing cows with excellent milking ability.

 

 

Herd health is very important to us and we are members of the Hi Health herdcare cattle health scheme (Biobest).  We have elite herd status for BVD, IBR, LEPTO and JOHNE'S DISEASE (risk level 1).
